Leave the car park turn right on the road and the immediately left on the track.

Take the main forestry track climbing up to the right signed Loggerheads.

On the edge of the forest go through a gate.

At Brithdir Mawr continue on tarmac for half a mile.

Turn left on the bridleway signed Moel Famau and follow the path keeping left around the Ffrith Mountain.

At the junction of paths keep straight on, uphill, and when you reach the forestry keep alongside the edge.

Where the Clwydian Way comes down from the mountain to cross your path keep straight on.

At a junction of tracks fork right along the contour line.

At the next junction of tracks turn right to go along the ridge.

As you drop down from the ridge turn right at the junction of tracks toward the reservoir.

Follow the path beside the reservoir to a gate and turn right on a stony track.

In three quarters of a mile take the bridleway right passing Cae Newydd on the right.

Continue straight across the next junction of tracks following the bridleway round to the left to the junction.

Turn left on the bridleway you rode up earlier and retrace your steps to the car park.
